Welcome Back Saddle Ridge Families!    

 We would like to thank our families for a wonderful start to the 2026-2027 school year. It’s great to see so many familiar faces in addition to our new students.  

Student Entry

Doors are open from 7:45 to 8:00 am for student entry. Doors close promptly at 8:00 am. If your child arrives after 8:00 am they will need to enter through the front door.  

This year there are 4 busses transporting students to and from school. There is a long "bus parking only" area at the front of the school. Please do not park in this area when dropping off/picking up your student. Please use the designated cross walks when dropping off and picking up your child.  

September 7 – School Closed 

Due to the Labour Day holiday, the school will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, September 8. 

CCT and Class Size Reduction 

This fall, the CBE has hired hundreds of teachers, education assistants, and other school staff to support student learning. These positions have been funded by the Government of Alberta with the intention of addressing classroom complexity and class sizes. 
 
We are pleased to welcome additional staff to our school for the 2026-27 school year: 

Ms. Waters and Ms. Hadi are our staff in these new teacher roles. Ms. Parveen and Ms. Kapoor are our Educational Assistants in these new roles. 

We are very pleased to welcome these new staff members to our school community! This additional staff will help ensure students benefit from: 

  • Increased teacher attention 
  • Improved classroom learning environments 
  • Greater support for diverse learning needs 

Friday Attendance Days for Kindergarten  

Kindergarten students do not attend school every Friday. Please check the school calendar here to confirm which Fridays your child will attend school from 8 am – 12 pm.  

Save the Date - Meet the Teacher -September 24, 2026 

Saddle Ridge School will be open for students to bring their parents/guardians to meet their teachers on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 4 – 6:30 pm. Teachers will be in their classrooms to welcome students and their families.
