Hello Saddle Ridge School Families, 

We had a great week at Saddle Ridge School filled with love, laughter, learning & great weather.  

Terry Fox Run 

The 2025 Terry Fox School Run is next week and we are so excited to be taking part! Our event will be taking place on Friday, September 19 for all morning kindergarten students and all grade 1-4 classes. Afternoon kindergarten students will do their Terry Fox Run on Thursday, September 18, 2025 during their phys-ed and music time (12:29-12:59pm).  Families are welcome to join us outside on the field and participate as well!   

Teachers will send a message on Google classroom with the time their class will be outside. This event supports vital cancer research, while also building incredible school spirit for our students.  We will be collecting Toonies for Terry, from Monday, September 15 to Monday, September 22. Students are invited to bring in any cash donation to their classroom teacher to help support the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research.  Let’s all show how incredible and generous our school community is and work to reach the fundraising goal of $650! Thank you in advance! 

Friday Attendance Days for Kindergarten 

Kindergarten students do not attend school every Friday. Please check the school calendar here to confirm which Fridays your child will attend school from 8 am – 12 pm. 

Save the Date - Meet the Teacher -September 25, 2025  

Saddle Ridge School will be open for students and families to come to meet their teachers on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 4 – 6:30 pm. Teachers will be in their classrooms to welcome students and their families.  

Alberta Education Assessment   

We wanted to let you know that students in grades 1, 2 and 3 are currently being assessed in both literacy and numeracy. These assessments are activities that will be done by your child’s teacher, during school time, before the end of September. These assessments are required by Alberta Education. Individual results of students will be shared with Alberta Education and are not used in determining report card grades.
