Hello Saddle Ridge Families, 

We had a great week at Saddle Ridge School with lots of students showing their team colours on Jersey Day yesterday. Mark your calendars for Meet the Teacher night on September 24 from 4-6:30 pm. 

Terry Fox Run – 2026 

The 2026 Terry Fox School Run is set for next week and we are so excited to be taking part! Families are welcome to join us outside on the field and participate as well!  Our event will be taking place as follows. 

  • AM Kindergarten classes will do their Terry Fox Run on Thursday, September 17 during their PE and music time (10-10:30am).  
  • All Grade 1-4 and PM Kindergarten classes will have their event on Friday, September 18. Teachers will send a message on Google classroom with the time their class will be outside. 

 We will be collecting Toonies for Terry from Monday, September 14 to Monday, September 28. Students are invited to bring in any cash donation to their classroom teacher to help support the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research.  Let’s show how incredibly generous our school community is and work to reach our fundraising goal of $700!  

Student Assessment Information 

All Kindergarten to grade 4 children and students will have literacy and numeracy screening beginning next week. Information on Alberta Education and Childcare Literacy and Numeracy Screening was sent to parents in an email on September 11, 2026. Child and Youth Well-Being Series 

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community. The sessions are designed to provide families with knowledge, tools, and strategies to help navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today.
