Dear Parents/Guardians,

Wednesday was Take Me Outside Day so all our classes had a portion of their class-time learning out of doors. We are thankful for the great fall weather this week!

Please note that students spend time outside each day. During Lunch Supervision time students are outside for at least 20 minutes unless the temperature is below –20 with the wind chill. Students need to have coats, hats, mitts and, on snowy days, boots. Please see our Cold Weather Days page for more information.

Literacy/Numeracy Screening Results

As communicated earlier, teachers will be providing parents/legal guardians with a printed copy of their child’s Literacy and Numeracy Screener reports in a sealed envelope between October 26 and October 29.

The CBE will be emailing parent/legal guardians on October 26. This email will include the Understanding Universal Screeners Parent Information Sheet and an Alberta Education and Childcare link to additional resources to help families understand their child’s report and learning progress.

School Council & School Society Meetings

Reminder, our first School Council & School Society meeting of the school year will be on Monday, October 26 at 1:30 pm at the school.

Halloween Activities

The PM Kindergarten classes will have their Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 29. AM Kindergarten and all Gr. 1-4 classes will have their Halloween Parade on Friday, October 30. Students are welcome to wear costumes to school on their parade day if they choose. Please check your student's Google classroom for information on Halloween activities and times.

Student Central School Fees

Student Supplies fee, Transportation and Lunch Supervision fees are now available for payment in the parent MyCBE account.  If your child is staying at school during the lunch break and you have not registered for Lunch Supervision, the school office will be registering your student.  All students who are present at school during the lunch break must be registered in the Lunch Supervision Program.  The annual fee for 2026-27 is $350.
