Good Afternoon Saddle Ridge School Families,  

Welcome to 2026! We had a great first week back and are looking forward to great learning this month.  

2026-2027 School Registration Begins January 12, 2026 

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year begins on January 12, 2026.  Children born in the year 2021 are eligible to start kindergarten in September 2026.  Registration can be done through your MyCBE account.  

As Saddle Ridge School continues to receive more registrations that we can accommodate, we will follow the lottery process for Kindergarten registrations. Registrations received by noon on February 10, 2026 will be included in our Lottery draw on February 11, 2026. Registration is not on a first-come, first-served basis.   

Registrations that are unsuccessful in the Lottery draw and registrations received after the Lottery draw, if they cannot be accommodated at Saddle Ridge School, will be placed on a priority call-back waitlist and overflowed to Hugh A Bennett School.

Alternate Program Expression of Interest 

If you are interested in your student attending one of the CBE Alternate programs (Science, TLC or language schools) Expression of Interest (EOI) forms are available in your MyCBE account beginning January 12. EOI forms are due by nopn on February 10 to be included in the lotteries for those alternate program schools.  

Early Years Assessment 

Students in grades K- Gr. 3 will be assessed in both literacy and numeracy between January 10 and February 6. These assessments are activities that will be done by your child’s teacher, during class time. 

These assessments are mandated by Alberta Education. Individual student results will be shared with Alberta Education and are not used in determining report card grades. Assessment is ongoing and a regular part of every school year. This is just one more way our teachers are better able to understand the learning needs of your student.

Term 1 Reporting 

Term 1 Report Cards will be available in your MyCBE account on February 24, 2026 (new this year). Parent/Teacher Conferences will occur on February 26 & 27. More information will be available in February about scheduling a conference time with your student’s teacher.
