Hello Saddle Ridge Families,  

Welcome to 2025! We had a great first week back to school filled with love, laughter and learning. Check out our school calendar for School Spirit happening in January. 

Kindergarten Registration Beginning January 13   

If you have a child born in 2020 they are eligible to start kindergarten in September 2025.  Registration begins on January 13, 2025. Current CBE families can complete the registration through their MyCBE account. 

Saddle Ridge School will follow the lottery process for Kindergarten registrations. Registrations received by February 11, 2025 will be included in our Lottery draw. Registration is not on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Registrations that are unsuccessful in the Lottery draw and registrations received after the Lottery draw, if they cannot be accommodated at Saddle Ridge School, will be placed on a waitlist and overflowed to Hugh A Bennett School.

Alberta Education Assessment   

Students in grades K, 1, 2, & 3 are currently being assessed in both literacy and numeracy. These assessments are activities that will be done by your child’s teacher, during school time, before the end of January. These assessments are mandated by Alberta Education. Individual student results will be shared with Alberta Education and are not used in determining report card grades. Assessment is ongoing and a regular part of every school year. This is just one more way our teachers are better able to understand the learning needs of your child.
