Good Afternoon Saddle Ridge Families,   

 We had a great week at Saddle Ridge School. Students are settling into our school community and participating in wonderful learning opportunities.  

 School Forms Deadline September 16, 2023  

The Annual Authorization Form (FOIP) will ensure your student’s picture & work can be included in their Google Classroom. The Demographics Verification form ensures the school has the correct emergency contact information for your child.   

 Please complete the Annual Authorization Form and Demographics Verification form in School Engage by September 16. You will find access to School Engage through your MyCBE account. If you do not have a MyCBE account, please contact the office for assistance.    

Terry Fox Run 

The 2024 Terry Fox School Run is set for September and we are so excited to be taking part! Our event will take place on Friday, September 20 for all afternoon kindergarten students and all grade 1-4 classes. Morning kindergarten students will do their Terry Fox Run on Monday, September 23, 2024 during their phys-ed and music time. 

 We need your help to boost our student’s fundraising. This event supports vital cancer research while also building incredible school spirit for our students.  We will be collecting Toonies for Terry, from Thursday, September 12 to Tuesday, September 24. Students are invited to bring in any cash donation to their classroom teacher to help support the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research.  Let’s all show how incredible and generous our school community is and work to reach the fundraising goal of $650! Thank you in advance! 

Meet the Teacher -September 26, 2024 

Saddle RIdge School will be open for students and families to come to meet their teachers on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 from 4 – 7 pm. Teachers will be in their classrooms to welcome students and their families. 

Alberta Education Assessment  

We wanted to let you know students in grades 1,2, 3 are currently being assessed in both literacy and numeracy. These assessments are activities that will be done by your child’s teacher, during school time, before the end of September. These assessments are mandated by Alberta Education Individual results of students will be shared with Alberta Education and is not used in determining report card grades.    

Assessment is ongoing and a regular part of every school year. This is just one more way our teachers are better able to understand the learning needs of your child.
