Inform | Weekly Update December 1, 2023
Good Afternoon Saddle Ridge Families,
It’s amazing how quickly the school year is progressing – December is already here! Thank-you to all the parents/guardians who attended Student Learning Conferences last week. We were very excited to see you all here supporting your students. The Saddle Ridge School website contains important information for parents. Our 2023-2024 School Development Plan, 2022-2023 Fee Report to Parents and 2023-2024 Truth and Reconciliation Commitment documents are posted here.
Loonies for Lunches
The Grade 4 Leadership Club is fundraising for The Calgary Foodbank by taking part in the Loonies for Lunches Program. The Leadership Club will start collecting donations next week with a goal to raise $1000. We know, with the support of our wonderful school community we will be able to reach this goal.
Re-Take Photo Orders
If you choose to purchase student photos from the re-take day, Nov. 15, these orders are due at the school December 4.
Grade One TD Book Giveaway
This week our grade one students received a gift from the Canadian Children’s Book Centre. Each year, the TD Grade One book Giveaway provides students across Canada with a copy of a Canadian published book. If your grade one student received a book – please take time to read it with them.
School Council/School Society Upcoming Meeting
The next School Council Meeting is on Monday, December 4 at 1:30 pm. This will be an in-person meeting at the school. All parents are welcome to come. Our Assistant Principal Ms. Chaudhary will be able to provide translation in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu, as needed.
Cold Weather reminder
Students may go outside at lunchtime, and for PE and other learning activities. Please ensure your child has appropriate winter clothing each day (coat, boots, hat and gloves). Our winter weather can fluctuate during the day, so we encourage students to be prepared for all weather.
